Praised be Jesus Christ!
Greetings from your Sisters of the Monastery of the Little Flower of Jesus! We have been very warmly welcomed here, especially by the priests we have met, who are so grateful to have the presence of Discalced Carmelite Nuns in their diocese. We feel tremendously blessed to be here and very much at home, though we miss our friends in Buffalo and Florida very much!
It was with tears of gratitude for the dear friends who lovingly saw us off that we set out from Jacksonville on September 9. We had a grace-filled journey back up North and were blessed to meet many wonderful people along the way, all of whom were deeply touched to learn that there are souls completely devoted to prayer who will now intercede for them and their loved ones.
Some of the Sisters traveled by plane to Connecticut, while the others traveled by car with family members and close friends of the Community. By the afternoon of September 10 we were all reunited, just in time for the first Mass in our chapel, devoutly offered by Fr. Peter Lenox of St. Roch’s Church in Greenwich, CT, who is the Episcopal Vicar for Liturgy and Worship for the Diocese of Bridgeport. From that moment, we have had the joy of having our Eucharistic King dwelling in our midst, making it what it most truly is… HIS home!

Now we are busy unpacking and settling in, transforming this residence into a Carmelite monastery. Since it was originally built to be a convent for active Sisters who taught at the high school next door, it lends itself well to Religious observance. May God abundantly reward our dear Bishop Caggiano for allowing us to reside here until our new monastery is built! We have been redesigning the chapel to give it a more traditional look, including the installation of new ceiling tiles by our novices, who have very much enjoyed this project! Our beautiful statues and choir stalls are also in place, which immediately transformed the chapel and made it feel like home.
