Praised be Jesus Christ!Â

Prayerful greetings from your Sisters in Carmel! Please know that you and yours have a fond remembrance in our daily prayers, with profound gratitude for your kindness to us! In this month especially dedicated to the Holy Souls in Purgatory, we are also praying especially for your deceased loved ones, that they may be welcomed into eternal light and peace in the everlasting company of the Blessed.
A shower of Roses from the Little Flower
The past few weeks have been full of blessings! In early October, we had the great joy of celebrating the feast of our patroness, Saint Therese of the Child Jesus and the Holy Face, the Little Flower of Jesus.Â

Right before the feast day, our wonderful friends in Jacksonville generously surprised us with an order of at least 30 dozen magnificent red roses, which, according to our longstanding tradition, were blessed after Mass in honor of Saint Therese. The roses remained fresh for over a week and were a lovely reminder of all those who are united with us in prayer, despite the miles that separate us.

Then we had the delightful surprise of receiving a beautiful arrangement of red roses from our dear Bishop Frank Caggiano and our Chancellor Deacon Patrick Toole, which deeply touched our hearts!

We promptly placed the roses before our lovely life-sized statue of the Little Flower, begging her to bless and reward them for all their generosity and kindness to our Community.
More major Feast days in October!
As the feast of Our Holy Mother St. Teresa of Avila arrived in mid-October, the leaves began to take on more vibrant hues of red and gold, like so many little flames of color pointing to heaven… very appropriately for that great Virgin and Doctor of the Church, whose fiery heart was pierced by a seraph’s dart and set ablaze with ardent love for God!

On the last Sunday of October, the traditional feast of Christ the King, Sr. Mary Grace of the Holy Spirit and Sr. Marie Gabrielle of the Mother of God celebrated their Silver Jubilee of First Profession in Carmel.

Sr. Mary Grace’s parents and about thirty other relatives were able to attend the beautiful High Mass, including her nephew Fr. John Paul Heisler from the Diocese of Arlington, VA, who made his First Holy Communion at the Mass for Sister’s Solemn Profession in 2002!
It was a day of joyous thanksgiving for so many graces bestowed over the past 25 years, and of hopeful expectation of all the blessings yet to come, since there is no surer way to draw down fresh graces than to offer Our Lord a grateful heart for blessings already received.
And two months after our return to the Northeast we have witnessed our first snow since January 15, 2024! It was very picturesque and brought back wonderful memories from our time and our friends in Buffalo.

Habemus Telephonum!
At long last, our telephone number for prayer requests, (203) 748-1187, is ready to receive your special intentions! And you are always welcome to submit prayer requests on our website at https://www.carmellittleflower.org, or to share them by regular mail.
May the Little Flower gather all your intentions as so many roses and present them to the Heart of Jesus, who will certainly shower abundant blessings upon you for all of your kindness to Carmel!
God bless you!!!
